CEO, Director

Alex McAulay

Alexander McAulay CPA, CA is an experienced public company Executive. Following his articling at MNP LLP, Alex founded the successful Naked Brand Group Inc. (NASDAQ: NAKD) and led the company as its COO and CFO. Alex is well connected in the capital markets and is CEO of the largest back office advisory firm to junior public companies in Canada, Treewalk Consulting Inc., providing CFO advisory services. 

He has previously served as one of the youngest elected people in Canada on his local School Board, was formerly a member of University of the Fraser Valley’s Board of Governors and has served as President of the Board of a large social service agency. For all his early accomplishments, he was awarded the inaugural Young Distinguished Alumni Award from his Alma Mater, the University of the Fraser Valley.


Douglas S. Turnbull

Mr. Turnbull is a consulting geologist with over 30 years’ experience in diamond, precious and base metal exploration.  He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and is a Qualified Professional Geoscientist recognized by the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.  Mr. Turnbull has managed or served on the boards of a number of junior exploration and mining companies with assets ranging from early stage to advanced projects world wide.  He has played a key role on exploration teams responsible for the exploration and development of the Eskay Creek Gold Deposit in British Columbia, Canada, the Petaquilla Cu-Au Porphyry Deposit in Panama, the Mt. Kare Gold Deposit in Papua New Guinea and the OJVG Gold Deposits in Senegal.


Phil Ellard

Philip Ellard is a designated CPA with a Bachelor of Commerce Honours from the University of British Columbia. His expertise includes providing financial reporting, go-public, taxation and regulatory support services. Philip sits as a CFO for MiMedia Holdings (TSX-V: MIM), Newpath Resources Inc. (CSE: PATH) and Caravan Energy Corporation. Prior to his time at Treewalk, Philip worked as an accountant with Smythe LLP and Morgan & Company LLP, two public accounting firms in Vancouver, B.C., providing audit and taxation services to private and public companies.

Bill Yeomans

Mr. Yeomans obtained his HBSc in Geological Sciences from Queen’s University in 1982. He is a gold exploration professional more than 20 years’ experience at the VP, President and Board of Directors level, providing leadership to exploration teams and delivering value in greenfield and brownfield environments through discoveries resulting with significant NI 43-101 compliant gold resources throughout the Americas. Board level experience includes delivering professional presentations, member of audit and safety review committees, and has acted as the Q.P. for numerous press releases for several junior mining companies. He is currently on the Board of Directors for Inomin Mines Inc. and a past board member for Damara Gold Corp. As President of Yeomans Geological Inc., he has consulted to IAMGOLD, identifying acquisition opportunities across Canada and Alaska.

Other clients include Dundee Precious Metals Inc. as well as Fortune 
Bay Corp., where he was part of a business development team evaluating and recommending advanced gold projects throughout the Americas. As one of the founders of Western Canada Greenfield’s Group, he staked a portfolio of gold projects that was sold to Sable Resources Inc. He is an active P.Geo. with APEGBC, a member of the SEG, and a registered member of the Kijicho Manito Madaouskarini Algonquin First Nation of Ontario.



Jacob Verbaas

Mr. Verbaas is an exploration geologist with an MSc. from Utrecht University and a PhD from Simon Fraser University. His strengths are regional targeting as well as combining novel technologies with traditional methods to further project-scale exploration strategies. He has exploration experience in Australia, Northern Africa, and Canada. He has been involved with Canadian public exploration companies through his roles as COO of Flow Metals (CSE:FWM), and the VP Exploration of Go Metals (CSE:GOCO). Mr. Verbaas is a registered Professional Geologist with EGBC.

Mr. Collins has over 15 years of corporate experience as an executive, director advisor of private and public companies. His expertise spans mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, go-public transactions, commercial partnerships, accounting, and corporate governance. In recent engagements with corporate issuers, he has coordinated and executed on fundraisings totaling over $200 million in equity capital and launched active M&A programs for early-stage companies. Prior to his current corporate activities, Darren worked for several investment and merchant banks, including Alegro Capital LP in London, UK, Scotia Capital Inc., and Quest Capital Corp. (now known as Sprott Resource Lending Corp.) in Toronto, Canada. Mr. Collins holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance from Dalhousie University.

Darren Collins


Mr. Blackwell is a self-employed consultant based in Vancouver with extensive greenfields and brownfields exploration experience throughout Canada, Western United States, Mexico and Latin America, with short assignments in parts of Africa, Europe, Greenland, Australia and southeast Asia. He has worked in the exploration industry for over 50 years, including 13 years with Cominco Ltd. working on uranium exploration in northern Canada, VMS exploration in Tasmania and B.C., SEDEX zinc exploration in the Yukon and southeastern B.C., and gold exploration in the coast ranges of northwestern B.C.

Capitalizing on years of rock hounding throughout the Grenville in both Ontario and Quebec, Mr. Blackwell identified and evaluated pegmatites throughout Canada and world-wide, as well as unconventional sources of lithium and boron, for a number of clients during the 1980’s and up until 2012. He currently serves in an advisory role with Chakana Copper Corp., Palamina Corp. and NewOrigin Gold Corp., all Venture-listed companies.

Jerry Blackwell

Strategic Advisor

Mr. Merkel has extensive senior executive experience.​ He was CEO and CFO of a private Trading Company from 1994 to 2005.
From 2005 to present, he has been CFO and COO of an international trading wholesale and retail of catering equipment company and producer of catering accessories. He has been actively involved in the mining sector for ten years.

Gerhard Merkhel


Christopher has been investing in the natural resource sector for over 10 years; delivering solutions for corporate structure, strategy, and communications for small-cap juniors. He was an instrumental part in the incubation of Lithium Consolidated Mineral Exploration, which went public on the ASX in 2017. He started his career at Longview Capital Partners in corporate development, then worked as an Investment Advisor at Mackie Research. He is currently the Founder of Progenitor Metals Corp.
